Design & Build
DSS 2 places Métronome’s network playback platform in the compact Digital Sharing chassis. Its steel enclosure and machined-aluminium front panel provide a rigid foundation, while a toroidal transformer and independently regulated power lines supply its network and digital-output stages.
The deliberately simple front panel keeps operation focused on app-based control. At only 250 mm wide and deep, DSS 2 can be placed beside or stacked with DSC Mini and DST to create a compact, modular digital system. Electronic boards are hand-soldered, and each unit is assembled and tested in France.
System Pairing
DSS 2 is designed to feed an external D/A converter and pairs naturally with DSC Mini through I²S for high-resolution PCM and native DSD up to DSD256. AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs provide compatibility with other converters.
It is suited to listeners who want a focused streaming transport without duplicating the D/A converter already present in their system.
