Design & Build

AQWO 2 combines Métronome’s precision top-loading disc mechanism, conversion circuitry and network platform in a single full-width chassis. Its aluminium and steel construction provides a stable mechanical foundation, while multiple internal power transformers and independently regulated supply lines isolate the transport, digital and analogue sections.

The seven-inch touchscreen provides direct access to playback, input, conversion and streaming functions. Each electronic board is hand-soldered, and every unit is assembled and tested by Métronome Technologie’s technicians in France.

System Pairing

AQWO 2 can serve as the primary digital source in a reference system, playing physical discs, streaming music and accepting external digital sources through its onboard DAC. Its balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA outputs connect to a preamplifier or integrated amplifier.

For listeners who prefer the dimensionality and tonal character of valves, the optional tube output stage can be specified at purchase or installed later.
