Design & Build
AQWO 2+ separates its power supply from the main audio chassis, reducing the electrical and mechanical interference that can affect clocking, conversion and low-level analogue signals. The main unit houses Métronome’s top-loading CD/SACD mechanism, ESS conversion stage and network platform, while the matching external supply provides carefully regulated power.
Both enclosures use substantial aluminium and steel construction. The seven-inch touchscreen provides direct access to playback, input, conversion and streaming functions. Electronic boards are hand-soldered, and each system is assembled and tested by Métronome Technologie’s technicians in France.
System Pairing
AQWO 2+ can serve as the primary digital source in a reference system, playing CDs and SACDs, streaming from local or online libraries and converting external digital sources. Its balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA outputs connect to a preamplifier or integrated amplifier.
Its separate power supply makes AQWO 2+ the preferred version for highly resolving systems. The optional tube output stage adds further flexibility for listeners seeking a richer and more dimensional presentation.
