Design & Build
Theme 41 uses four pure-silver conductor cores surrounded by a braided shield. The internal structure comprises 152 individual strands in two different diameters, with silk winding used around the conductors.
The combination of different strand diameters allows Kondo to tune the cable’s overall behaviour while retaining the low-level detail and tonal qualities associated with pure silver. The silk winding and braided shield provide physical support and protection for the delicate conductor assembly.
The standard Theme 41 interconnect is terminated with Kondo’s original AN-Pn2 RCA connectors. The corresponding Theme 41 Armcable retains the same conductor structure but adds a straight five-pin DIN connector for direct connection to compatible tonearms.
System Pairing
The Theme 41 RCA interconnect is designed for unbalanced analogue connections between source components, preamplifiers and power amplifiers. Its available lengths of 1, 1.5 and 2 metres accommodate both compact equipment racks and systems requiring greater component separation.
Theme 41 Armcable carries the extremely low-level cartridge signal from a tonearm with a standard straight five-pin DIN connection. It can be ordered with Kondo AN-Pn2 RCA plugs for conventional phono stages and moving-coil transformers, or with XLR connectors for compatible phono equipment.
When ordering the Armcable, the connector type should be selected according to the tonearm socket and phono component. An XLR termination does not by itself confirm that the connected equipment operates with a fully balanced phono circuit.
